Kasey Sharpe graduated as a Summa Cum Laude with a degree in Elementary Education and minor in Psychology and Science from Florida State University. She is a state-certified teacher for grades K through 6th and is ESOL and Reading endorsed. Kasey is progressing in her masters in Exceptional Student Education (ESE) at Florida Atlantic University. She has worked with local public, private, and home school students throughout Palm Beach County for many years.
Kasey got the idea to start a tutoring program to build self-esteem and help students DREAM BIG about their future. As a former teacher, she understands the difficulties families may go through if their child struggles in school. Whether it is a learning disability, test anxiety, or social, emotional, or behavior issue, each child responds to education differently. Kasey loves being a part of the solution for a student and family in need of academic assistance
When Kasey is not teaching, she loves doing educational research, attending continuous education workshops, and promoting educational events. For fun, she hangs out with her husband and three adorable dachshunds. She is a dedicated Christ follower and uses the field of teaching as a way to serve God and others around her.
Jesse Nelms is an alumni of Liberty University where he earned a Master's Degree in Biblical Studies graduating Magna Cum Laude in 2010. Jesse was awarded an honorary Doctor in Divinity from a theological seminary in Havana, Cuba in 2011 for his published book, God’s Secret. Jesse is a proud father of his four year old daughter Selah, has pastored at Grace Fellowship of West Palm Beach, and loves writing, speaking and teaching at local and international events. Jesse gets great satisfaction out of teaching and helping others, especially youth and children to aid their development of a passion for education and other critical academic skills necessary for success in society.
James Ryan is a graduate of Towson University in Maryland. He was awarded his B.A. in History with specific focus on Middle Eastern and Revolutionary War Studies. He is currently enrolled in South University’s Master’s program for Licensed Mental Health Counseling with particular interest in working with children and adolescents. He plans to focus on issues including, addiction, learning disorders, bullying, and anxiety as well as depression and physical, mental, emotional and spiritual abuse. He is dedicated to the ideal of being a “lifetime student”, and would like to pursue his doctorate in psychology and /or theology following the completion of his Master’s. James was recently married in March of 2013, and loves spending time with his beautiful wife.
Gayla Angel graduated with honors from the University of Texas in Arlington, holds a lifetime Texas Teaching Certification, and has been teaching since 1994. She has taught in Texas, Pennsylvania, and Florida. She has worked in many formats over the years, teaching in private, public, Christian, and home schooling. Gayla enjoys helping students achieve and become confident in their skills and studies. She is currently state certified for the state of Florida and is teaching for the Palm Beach School District.
Dana Bates received her teaching degree from the University of Phoenix. She currently is a first grade teacher for the Palm Beach County School District. She has experience teaching elementary grades and dedicates a lot of her time to continuing her own education by going to reading, math, and writing workshops throughout Florida. Dana truly enjoys teaching and helping students strive for excellence. She also is a talented hair stylist and hair dresser, assisting many young teens during prom season.
Sara graduated from the University of South Florida with a degree in Elementary Education and has additional endorsements in ESOL and Gifted Education. She has taught elementary grades for five years for both a regular setting classroom and gifted setting. She currently teaches gifted students in the Palm Beach County School District. Sara loves working with students and seeing them succeed. She also enjoys being outdoors and doing anything at the ocean!
Delmarie is an experienced Mathematics teacher with over 25 years of classroom teaching, tutoring and curriculum development for all levels of Mathematics from Grades 6 to Grade 12. She has a Bachelor of Science degree in Mathematics and 30 credits of graduate studies in Mathematics and Education from Monmouth University in New Jersey. Delmarie works well with students of all abilities, loves to work with young people to motivate and guide them to accomplish their goals. She uses real life applications to engage her students and to make mathematics relevant. Delmarie enjoys taking early morning walks, playing golf, sitting on the beach reading, studying the Bible with a Life group, traveling, sewing, and community service.
Gwen attended Florida Atlantic University and graduated with a Bachelors of Science in Elementary Education for grades K-6 with an ESOL endorsement. She has taught in the Palm Beach County School system for 3 years, two of which were teaching kindergarten and one teaching 1st grade. She loves being a stay-at-home wife and mother of two amazing children. In her free time, she loves to take pictures and learn more about photography.
Stephanie attended Florida Atlantic University, graduated with a bachelor degree in elementary education, and is certified kindergarten through sixth grade. Since 2010, she has experience teaching classes to homeschoolers, giving end of the year evaluations, and currently tutors for private, public, and homeschooled students. She especially enjoys tutoring elementary and middle school math. Stephanie is happily married and loves to decorate and organize interior spaces.
Astrid graduated from Palm Beach Atlantic University with a Bachelor’s degree in Medicinal Chemistry and a Bachelor’s degree in Health Management from Palm Beach State College. She is also a certified Emergency Medical Technician. Astrid has tutored students all over Palm Beach County in French and Chemistry. Astrid shares her extensive knowledge of the beautiful French language and culture because she enjoys seeing amazing results in her students’ grades and attitudes towards multi-cultural learning. For fun, she loves being outdoors, camping, canoeing, hiking, reading, and watching musicals or light-hearted comedies.
Lisa is a graduate of Florida Atlantic University, where she obtained her Bachelor of Science in Biology. During her time at FAU, she was a teaching assistant for Life Science. Lisa has over 3 years of experience working in biology and chemistry labs. She tutors students in Biology, Earth Science, Life Science, Physics, Anatomy, Chemistry and Physical Science. Lisa feels it is rewarding to help students not only reach their goals, but learn to enjoy science. She looks forward to helping more students see science as appealing, not challenging. Sherrie-Ann obtained her Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education (K-6 with ESOL Endorsement)) from Palm Beach Atlantic University. She is certified to teach Middle School English grades 5th through 9th and currently teaches Language Arts full time at a local middle school. She has years of experience working with children through church, babysitting, camps, and other various avenues. For fun, Sherrie-Ann really enjoys baking. She also plays soccer and is a certified U.S. referee.
Jenny graduated in 2006 from Florida State University with a Bachelor of Science degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders. While at Florida State, she gained experience tutoring children of different ages at the Florida Baptist Children’s Home in Tallahassee. She enjoys being outdoors, reading, watching movies, and spending time with her family. She resides in Jupiter with her husband, son and daughter.
Anna is a 2010 graduate of Liberty University with a dual degree and endorsement in Elementary Education (K-6) and Special Education (K-12). During her teaching career, she has had the opportunity to work as a high school special education teacher, a 2nd grade teacher, and an international elementary English teacher in South Korea. She loves teaching and making learning fun for all her students. She utilizes different teaching methods and strategies in order to reach all types of learners. When she is not teaching, she enjoys spending time with her husband, serving at her church and traveling.
Leanne attended Bowling Green State University majoring in International Trade and Finance. Leanne served 25 years in the financial services as a financial advisor, principal, regional manager and 10 years regulating the securities industry working closely with the FBI, Department of Justice, FINRA, and the SEC. Leanne has won several awards including Outstanding Law Enforcement Officer from the US Attorney, Outstanding Service Award by the Director of the FBI, The Davis Productivity Distinguished Individual Award and Manager of the Year. She also has served on the board of numerous non profit organizations. Leanne has taught homeschooled students in group and individual settings. Leanne and her husband Jim are the proud parents of their two daughters, Sydney and Rylee.
Lisa comes to Dream Big Tutoring with 11 years’ experience as a teacher of English and English Department Chair, where she was responsible for teaching, developing curriculum, aligning Common Core Standards, and implementing technology in the English classroom. Lisa holds a State of Florida Teaching Certificate in English 6-12, a Basic Catechist Certificate, a B.S from Florida State University, and a Masters of Liberal Studies from Rollins College. Her specialties include: literary analysis, essay writing, research papers, MLA formatting, ACT, SAT, and PSAT test prep, and the college application process, including "college essays that work." Lisa is currently working toward a Ph.D. in Comparative Literature at FAU and works as an English Professor at Palm Beach State College. In addition to her love of literature and teaching, Lisa enjoys yoga, running, bicycling, playing at the beach, volleyball, and has recently discovered stand-up paddle boarding.
Alicia graduated from the University of North Carolina with a Masters in Spanish. She has a Bachelor’s of Science degree in Management/Human Resources from Park University. Alicia has taught Spanish for over 15 years at the elementary, high school and college levels. Her language teaching philosophy is to use a multi-sensory approach that makes learning Spanish fun! She is a highly motivated professional that focuses her teaching to your specific needs. She enjoys traveling, music and teaching others about the cultural richness of Spain, the Caribbean and Central & South American countries.
Our son’s progress has been tremendous this year, well beyond how he would have done with school alone. Dream Big has put together a creative, unique, and varied curriculum, customized for our son.
